Our President's Message..... From the 2017 Awards Brunch

Good afternoon everyone.  Welcome to the 2017 Red Valley saddle Club Banquet

I am very honoured to serve as Red Valley president again this year.

I want to take a few minutes and introduce our 2018 Executives and Directors and Committee members if the Executives and Directors can stand up as I call out your name as we have some new faces.

Treasurer- Jordy Free

Points Secretary - Pam Grant

Recording Secretary- Jocelyn Koolen

Directors- Wendy Hope, Pam Grant, Jessica Austin, Jordy Free, Glenda McLellan, Rachelle Faria, Mitch Carruthers, Kayla Wilson

Red Valley and myself want to take a few minutes and thank our retiring Treasurer Wendy Hope for all her dedication and keeping us on the right financial track.  Wendy spent 2014 – 2017 as treasurer and did a great job keeping all the finances in line. We can’t thank you enough for all your hard work Wendy.  If you can come up we have a little something for you to show our appreciation.

We are still looking for an awards chairperson, so please if you are interested let one of Executives or Directors know.  We also need volunteers in the entry booth and around the show grounds on the day of shows, so please if you are willing to help out please do so, as we need as many volunteers as possible to make the show year a success.

Last year was our second year with the pens in the new location and I think everything worked out great and as planned.  Although this year the Executive and Directors are working to make some changes to the class schedule so we can run the small ring more and keep the large ring moving along.  So please stay tuned for more details regarding that.

The last show of the year we had a Larry Johnson memorial jackpot barrel race we had 22 entries entered, the total price money to be won was around $1,000.  I want to take the time to thank all the sponsors that donated money towards making this event a huge success. Michelle and I and also Redvalley would like to send out a huge thank you to:

·         Rusty Gaits

·         RVSC

·         Johnson Family

·         Pam/Sam Hall

·         Craven Family

·         Frank/Thomas Family

Again thank you so much for making this day possible.  There is talk about hosting this event again next year so stay tuned.

Again this year we will be having open ride nights we don’t have the dates picked for that yet but please stay tuned, we will post on the website and facebook page so keep an eye open for those. Thank you to everyone that helped make this year a successful show year we had some new faces which is great to see.

Dates have been established for this year they have been posted on facebook and on the website so check that for those details.

On behalf of the Red Valley Saddle club I wish you all good luck for the 2018 show season.

Kate Johnson , 2018 President
